Sip Sip Hooray!
Get ready to swig from your steins at the Edmonton Craft Beer Festival this March! With beer, ciders, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic on offer, Alberta Beer Festivals’ flagship Edmonton event has something for everyone. The event takes over the Edmonton Expo Centre March 6 and 7 this year, and AMA members can save 30% on general admission tickets when you buy them ahead online.
Enchanted Swan Lake
Get swept away by the timeless magic of Swan Lake as Alberta Ballet brings one of the ballet world’s most beloved masterpieces to the stage in Calgary and Edmonton this March. This vivid production features Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by a sorcerer’s curse. Curling’s Best
The world’s top women’s curling teams will gather in Calgary this March for the BKT World Women’s Curling Championships. From March 14 to 22, elite teams hot off the Olympic trail will gather to face off at the WinSport Event Centre. Whether you’re a die-hard curling fan or just looking to check out some elite-level competition, this is a chance to see some of the best out there play right here in Alberta.
Dreamed a Dream
The world’s most popular musical, Les Misérables, will visit Calgary and Edmonton this March as part of the Broadway Across Canada tour. The Tony Award-winning phenomenon centred on ex-convict Jean Valjean’s French Revolution-era redemption tale includes the hit songs “I Dreamed a Dream”, “One Day More”, and “Master of the House”. The show will visit Calgary from March 4 to 8, and then Edmonton from March 10 to 15—and AMA members can save up to 20% for tickets purchased online plus receive a free $12 beverage voucher.
SkirtsAfire Festival
This year marks the 14th year for Edmonton’s SkirtsAfire Festival, which celebrates women artists in the region. Over ten days, theatre, music, dance, comedy, workshops and more take place in the Old Strathcona and French Quarter areas. SkirtsAfire takes place March 5 to 15, and helps to showcase underrepresented artists in the community including women, non-binary individuals, as well as people who identify as LGBTQIA+. Food Frenzy
Food lovers have some options all around the province this month, as spring eats and drink festivals are set to take place in several cities. From March 13 to 29, the YYC Food & Drink Expo highlights Calgary’s best eats, with restaurants in that city offering multi-course prix fixe menus during the event. Meanwhile in Red Deer, the Alberta Food & Beverage Expo will take place March 28 at Westerner Park, featuring over 120 food and drink vendors. And in the Edmonton area, Sherwood Park’s NOSH Food Fest at the Strathcona County Community Centre and County Hall will offer up over 100 different all-local food and drink producers to discover.
