To hear Darren and Sylvia Cheverie talk about Beaumont is to presume their hearts beat not inside their chests but in their community. Their passion for the city’s vibrant roots, along with its local producers, is what’s helped them build a restaurant that celebrates Beaumont and beautiful food in equal measure.
Put simply, Chartier isn’t just a restaurant in the community; it’s a restaurant for the community. It’s the Cheveries’ love letter to the city Sylvia’s family has lived in for more than 100 years, and that Darren—a Nova Scotian—has embraced as his second home.
