This is AMA: Caroline Knapik

By AMA Staff

Born in Compeer, Alberta, on Sept. 26, 1919, Caroline Knapik has been an Albertan almost as long as there has been an Alberta. The vibrant centenarian is also one of our longest-tenured members, having acquired her AMA card 68 years ago.

Caroline has experienced a lot over the last century—not least the arrival of five children, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. From weathering the Great Depression to starting a family during wartime, becoming a teacher to embracing the open road (she drove until age 98!), Caroline is a living testament to Alberta’s pioneer spirit.

In the September edition of This is AMA, a video series celebrating our membership community, Caroline marks her 100th birthday by reminiscing on life, love and the importance of family.
