Festive Fun: The CP Holiday Train

By AMA Staff

Sure, you can wait for Santa’s December 25 sleigh ride, but for many families the holiday season starts with the arrival of a 14-car locomotive. For nearly two decades, the CP Holiday Train has rumbled across Canada, delivering festive fun with its bright display of Christmas lights—while also raising money and donations for local food banks.

Last year, more than 450,000 people celebrated as the train pulled into 100-plus cities and towns. This year, watch the train at stops including Camrose, Ponoka, Lacombe and Blackfalds on December 6, and Innisfail, Olds, Didsbury and Airdrie on December 7. Free to attend, though a food bank donation is kindly requested, each event features a special gift: a performance by top musical talents including Colin James and Emma-Lee.
